Established in 1981 on San Pedro, Alamo Cafe was the first restaurant in Central Texas to have its own, in-house tortilla factory where every tortilla served is handmade. No plastic wrapped tortillas made "somewhere else" a couple of days ago. Not in our restaurant! Our world famous tortillas are the result of many hours of experimenting (and eating) and, if the truth were told, a "mistake" that turned out to be the magic recipe. Today, each restaurant has its own tortilla factory and the same magic recipe is still used. For you unfortunates not living within driving distance of one of our locations, we'll pack a dozen or a 100 dozen for you, just call Denise at 210.341.1336 and tell us where to ship 'em.

Of course, ours are still best when eaten in one of our restaurants or taken right home-if they make it that far. . . Only minutes old when you pull them steaming hot from our tortilla warmers, slather 'em with mantequilla or stuff 'em with frijoles or whatever's left on your plato. So good, so many ways!

Just don't use 'em as frisbees-we frown on wasting great food!
